The One80 System®

A patented, root-cause approach to physical therapy, developed by medical professionals for lasting results.

At ORIGIN Health in Frisco, TX, Dr. Colt Oliver is a certified One80 System® provider. If you've tried conventional PT and didn't get the results you expected, this is why, and this is what's different.

One80 System

What Is the One80 System®?

The One80 System® is a patented evaluation and treatment process used by medical professionals to identify and treat the true root cause of orthopedic injury and discomfort.

Unlike conventional physical therapy that focuses on where it hurts, the One80 System® targets a specific physiological phenomenon called neuromuscular inhibition, the breakdown in communication between your nervous system and your muscles that drives the majority of musculoskeletal pain.

Our Approach: The One80 System®

By restoring that communication, One80 quickly and effectively eliminates symptoms like pain, swelling, and loss of motion, not by masking them, but by fixing what's actually wrong.

The One80 System® was developed by Dr. Rhett Polka, PT, DPT, OCS, CSCS. More information and a full list of certified providers can be found at one80pt.com.

The Root of Orthopedic Pain: Neuromuscular Inhibition

Most people with persistent pain have been told their issue is structural, a herniated disc, arthritis, a torn tendon. And while structural damage exists, it rarely explains why pain keeps coming back even after treatment.

The missing piece is neuromuscular inhibition.

When a muscle is inhibited, its nerve-to-muscle connection is disrupted. The muscle can't contract properly, so surrounding structures are forced to compensate. Over time, those compensations create the pain, stiffness, and movement dysfunction that patients come to PT to resolve.

Traditional physical therapy strengthens and stretches muscles, but if the neural communication hasn't been restored first, the underlying dysfunction remains, which is why so many patients improve temporarily and then plateau or regress.

The One80 System® addresses this directly.

How the One80 System® Works

One80 System® professionals are trained to perform a structured two-phase process:

Phase 1: Total and Specific Body Assessment

Your provider assesses how your entire body moves and loads, then drills down to evaluate the function of specific muscles. This full-body view reveals where neuromuscular dysfunction exists, even in areas that aren't painful.

Phase 2: Re-establish Normal Nerve/Muscle Communication

Once dysfunction is identified, your provider uses targeted techniques to restore normal neural drive to the inhibited muscle. When the nerve-to-muscle signal is re-established, the compensations unwind, and symptoms decrease or disappear.

The result: less pain, better movement, and lasting improvement, not another temporary fix.

What Makes One80 System® Professionals Different

One80 System® certification is not a weekend course. Providers complete:

  • Four months of rigorous post-graduate training

  • 20+ hours of hands-on lab work

  • Training built on top of an existing post-graduate degree (PT, MD, DC, etc.)

This level of training enables One80 System® providers to deliver uniquely personalized care, because they've been taught to see what's actually driving your body's dysfunction, not just treat where it hurts.

There are a limited number of certified providers in the country. Dr. Colt Oliver is the only One80 System® provider in Frisco, TX.

Frequently Asked Questions

Is the One80 System® painful?

No. The techniques used to restore neuromuscular function are manual and targeted, they are not aggressive, painful, or invasive.

How is this different from regular physical therapy?

Most physical therapy treats symptoms, stretching what's tight, strengthening what's weak. The One80 System® identifies and restores the neural communication that causes those problems in the first place. It's a different starting point, which is why it produces different results.

How quickly will I see results?

Many patients notice meaningful changes within the first few sessions. Because the One80 System® addresses root causes rather than symptoms, improvements tend to come quickly and hold over time.

Do you take insurance?

ORIGIN Health is a cash-pay clinic. We do not bill insurance directly. This keeps your care focused on what you need, not what an insurance company will authorize. Many patients find the value significantly exceeds in-network options.

Is Dr. Oliver the only One80 System® provider in Frisco?
